Online Learning

i-Ready at Our School
Now in our second year of using i-Ready, this online program is a key part of how we support student learning in both reading and math. Teachers use i-Ready for formal assessments three times a year. Based on your child’s results, the program provides personalized lessons to build skills and promote growth.
To get the most out of i-Ready, students are encouraged to complete at least 50 minutes per week in both reading and math. You can help by supporting your child’s i-Ready time at home!
Using i-Ready at Home
Students benefit from additional practice at home, and i-Ready is designed for them to complete independently. Teachers are alerted when students struggle with a lesson, allowing them to provide targeted support at school.
Tips for Home Use:
-
Aim for 20–25 minute sessions
-
Students can split time between reading and math or focus on one subject at a time
-
i-Ready is most effective when students are focused—please supervise screen time
-
Parent Tip: Just because a student is on a computer doesn’t mean they’re on task. Keep the sound on or check in regularly to make sure they are actively engaged in their lessons.
-
Supported Devices
-
i-Ready works on iPads and computers only (not other tablets or phones)
-
If you don’t have access to a device at home, talk to your child’s teacher about borrowing a school Chromebook
-
You’ll need to sign a permission form and are responsible for any lost or damaged items
-
Chromebooks are often used at school, so your child may need to bring it back and forth
